Shopping online is fast, easy and generally quite fun.  I enjoy shopping online Australian stores.  I do like to make sure that I am safely conducting transactions online though.  Nothing would be worse than having credit card information stolen or ordering a product that you never receive. 

I try to look for the most reputable online Australian stores.  If there are customer reviews and ratings about a particular online shop, I am sure to read them.  This helps me to get a feel for the reputation of the company.

Whenever I find a new Australian shop online that I have never made a purchase from before, I also look for an “About Us” section.  I like to read the company information blurbs so I know more about where the business is located (if they have an offline location) and how long they have been in business.  You can learn a lot about a business by looking around the website.

Whenever I order products online, I take a careful look at the checkout process.  I always make sure that the online Australian store offers secure transactions.  Knowing this puts my mind at ease that there is little chance I will become the victim of fraud.  Most online stores do offer the highest level of electronic security possible. 

I look for sites that use encryption so that I know my credit card and other personal information is not floating out there in plain letters.  I wish to protect all sensitive information when I make a transaction at an Australian website. 

I also like to read the privacy policies set forth by online stores.  A store should have this posted somewhere on their website.   You read this policy to learn if they shared information with any other parties and if so with whom.  If I do not like their privacy policy, I can then decide whether or not I wish to continue with a transaction.
